Your options
Types of life insurance
Different policies are built for different goals. Blake explains the tradeoffs so you can choose with confidence.
⏳
Term life
Coverage for a set period, such as 10, 20 or 30 years. Usually the most affordable way to get a large amount of coverage while your family depends on your income.
🏡
Whole life
Permanent coverage that lasts your whole life, with level premiums and cash value that builds over time.
📈
Universal life
Permanent coverage with more flexibility in premiums and death benefit, depending on the policy.
🕊️
Final expense
A smaller whole life policy designed to cover funeral costs, medical bills and other end-of-life expenses so your family is not left with them.
How much do I need?
Coverage sized to your family
There is no one right number. A good starting point is to add up what your family would need to cover if your income stopped:
✓ Years of income your family relies on
✓ Your mortgage or rent
✓ Car loans, credit cards and other debts
✓ Your children’s education
✓ Final expenses
Blake will walk through these with you and suggest an amount that fits your budget.

Common questions
Asked often, answered plainly
What is the difference between term and whole life?
Term life covers you for a set number of years and is usually the most affordable. Whole life covers you for your entire life and builds cash value, but costs more.
Do I need a medical exam?
Not always. Some policies require an exam, while others only ask health questions. Blake can help you find options that fit your situation.
How much does life insurance cost?
Cost depends on your age, health, the type of policy, the amount of coverage and, for term life, the length of the term. The younger and healthier you are when you buy, the lower your rate usually is.
How much life insurance do I need?
A common starting point is to add up the income your family would need to replace, plus your mortgage, other debts, future education costs and final expenses. Blake will walk through the numbers with you and suggest an amount that fits your budget.
Can I have more than one life insurance policy?
Yes. Many people combine policies, such as a term policy to cover the years their family depends on their income plus a smaller permanent policy for final expenses.
What happens when my term policy ends?
Coverage ends when the term is over unless you renew or convert it. Many term policies let you convert to a permanent policy without a new medical exam during a set window, so it is worth knowing your options ahead of time.
Is the life insurance through my job enough?
Group life insurance through work is a great benefit, but coverage amounts are often limited, and it usually ends if you leave or change jobs. Many people add an individual policy they own themselves.
Does it cost more to work with an agent?
No. There is no cost to talk with Blake, and working with an agent does not raise your premium.
